Nurse Practitioner
Desert Vein and Vascular Institute is seeking a Nurse Practitioner who will assist with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as it relates to peripheral vascular arterial and venous diseases. The majority of the position will be based on outpatient situations in an office based setting and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. The NP will be responsible for the assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status. Perioperative preparation and postoperative clinical management is conducted in collaboration with the surgeons.
Desert Vein and Vascular Institute is located in the Rancho Mirage, CA (Palm Springs area). We are a growing two surgeon (soon to be three) practice with 10 employees including a practice manager, medical and administrative assistants, and ultrasound technicians. Our scope of practice includes the treatment of general vascular diseases including varicose vein treatment.
Essential responsibilities
Functions independently to perform appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients as it relates to vascular diseases.
Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
Facilitates the patient's transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.
Help the physician in deciding on the right treatment option for the patients
Minimum qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
Current or pending Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure
Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
