Job Objective:
A brief overview of the position.
Works under the direction of the Manager, Main, FC and ED access areas to ensure the highest level of Registration and Financial accuracy.
Ensures that staff are providing all patients with a satisfying registration experience and are provided with choices, options and counseling to assist them in making their healthcare decisions.

Oversees the day-to-day.
24/7 operations of the Emergency department registration area by monitoring the daily schedules to meet flocculation of patients.
Works directly with the ED charge nurse, case mgmt.
and clinical staff to ensure proper staffing during peak times.
Oversees in conjunction with other ED supervisors approximately 5200 registrations and 1600 admission from the emergency room monthly.
Ensures WQ's are worked daily.
Monitors and reviews dashboards with team members weekly to ensure QI measures and department POS collections are met.
Reviews and enters corrections to employee Time and attendance records for adherence to hospital and department time keeping policies on a daily basis.
Ensures that all options have been explored for uninsured patient to include, HPE, MISP, Medi-cal, Charity, Uninsured discount and victims of crime.
Performs audits weekly for all team members to ensure accurate and completed demographic, insurance and authorization and/or cash quote is provided for all registered patients prior to discharge or admissions from the Emergency department.
Exercises complex problem solving techniques, collection/data entry, and evaluation and reporting of statistical concepts, defining problems, establishing facts and draws valid conclusions.
Oversees customer communication, positive or negative, by means of receiving calls, meeting with customers, data input, written/verbal communication, problem delegation/resolution, process improvement, statistical reporting and presentation.
Maintains a positive working relationship with physicians', EMS, law enforcement agencies and ancillary departments and Communicates and consults with manager/director as it relates to improving customer satisfaction.
Demonstrates an awareness and adherence to the departmental budget.
Conducts monthly staff meetings to provide feedback on unit operations, discuss problematic issues and introduce new procedures and/or regulations.
Provide for regular and ongoing staff training as needed by individual staff and on a routine and ongoing basis to ensure optimal skill levels and current knowledge base for all employees.
Develops work schedules proficiently, changes in staffing roles and work assignments based on department needs.
Revises schedule to ensure effective coverage at all times, including working within department due to staffing shortage.
Enforces policies and procedures maintaining Eisenhower Medical Center's Standard of Care.
Participates in the interview and hiring process to ensure adequate staffing.
Consistently demonstrates fair and effective management of department employees (i.
e.

performs timely evaluations, initiates appropriate coaching/counseling, fair application of policies/procedures, implements mechanisms to ensure competent staff.
Ensures staff are trained and prepared for any downtime/disaster and can perform the registration process on the BCA web.
