Job Objective:
A brief overview of the position.
Position is responsible for transporting patients in all departments of the hospital, assisting with patient care and procedures.

Some hospital and / or patient care experience.
Basic computer skillsEssential ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and reports suspected violationsDemonstrates knowledge of hospital approved patient identifications procedures.
Communicates pertinent information and unfinished tasks to co-workers prior to breaks, lunches and end of shift to ensure continuity of workflow.
Provides safe and efficient transfer of patients.
Provides safe patient environment at all times:
Stays with patient, who may be in danger of falling and hurting themselvesCorrectly identifies patient by use of armband.
Transports patients in a safe / comfortable manner to and from Department / Floors when necessary, reporting any changes that may occur during transport.
(SBAR)Assists Technologists/Nursing staff with patient procedures as assigned.
Assists Nursing staff/Technologists with moving patients when necessary.
Transports deceased patients to the morgue.
Responds and assists to Code Blue.
Notifies patients RN prior to transport and upon return.
Obtains copy of E.
D.
orders for Tech's prior to exam when applicable.
Notifies Nurse if patient needs taken off or put on monitor during E.
D.
transportOperates patient support equipment, such as:
oxygen tanks(E tanks), Hovermats, and ergo-slide.
Maintains sanitizing gurneys and keeping them stocked.
Helps with Lab specimens when needed.
Routinely transports specimens from surgery to Lab.
Escorts visitors, patient's families to waiting areas, cafeteria, and etc.
Performs dispatch duties as needed.
Stocks O2 / E tanks throughout the hospital.
Demonstrates good body mechanics moving, lifting and transporting patients.
Provides patient observation at the discretion of a nurse and communicates observations of patient condition changes to nurse.
Performs other duties as assigned.
